Can’t Travel? Volunteer in Ireland

You do not have to go abroad to make a difference. There are many opportunities in UN and EU volunteering programmes and through volunteer sending agencies In Ireland to lend your skills online to overseas projects.

Volunteers are also needed here in Ireland and there are a wide range of opportunities to suit your individual skills, interests and availability. In fact, most of those who go on to volunteer overseas performed some voluntary civic service here in Ireland beforehand.

Explore volunteering opportunities in Ireland through Volunteer Ireland. Volunteer Ireland is the National Volunteer Development Agency, an independent membership-based organisation that promotes and facilitates volunteering in Ireland. Volunteer Ireland works to promote and celebrate volunteering in Ireland through campaigns such as National Volunteering Week and the Volunteer Ireland Awards. It also runs Volunteer Centres nationwide to offer advice and support.
